Alo Coffee was founded by Tamiru Tadesse in 2020 to focus on the production and export of high-quality and competition CONTEXT coffees from Bensa, Sidama. Tamiru, who was born in Bensa, was inspired to start the company after a friend won the Cup of Excellence in 2020. Tamiru's washing station in Alo Kebele buys cherry from elevations that until recently, as a result of climate change, had been unable to support the cultivation of coffee.

*We roast Monday-Wednesday. Please note that all retail orders ship USPS ground and usually take 2-4 business days to arrive depending on location. For all 5lb bag orders, please advise that due to our roasting schedule, if your order for a 5lb bag comes in on Wednesday after 10am, or later in the week, we may not have enough coffee on hand to fulfill your larger order, and will revert to the next Tuesday to ship you out fresh coffee.
